Why we built this
Maritime shipping moves roughly 80% of world trade by volume, yet the data behind every container is still locked inside dozens of fragmented carrier portals. There is no single place to look up a container across MSC, COSCO, Maersk, and CMA CGM. There is no consistent API. And there is certainly no way for an AI agent to ask "where is my container right now?"
MariMetric was built to fix that. We are creating the missing data layer for global shipping — one platform, one API, one schema. So whether you are a shipper checking one container, a logistics manager monitoring hundreds, a developer building the next maritime app, or an AI agent answering a customer question, the data is finally in one place.
We start with container tracking because it is the highest-volume entry point. From there we expand to vessels, ports, and routes, then to enterprise dashboards and a developer API, and finally to MCP and structured data interfaces designed for AI agents.
